CIMC South China – A precursor and wholly-owned subsidiary of CIMC Group (Stock Code: 000039), it was officially established on September 22, 1982, in the Shekou Industrial Zone of Shenzhen. It is China's earliest specialized container manufacturing enterprise and one of the earliest Sino-foreign joint ventures. It held the world's top position in dry cargo container production for over 20 consecutive years. Over its more than 40-year history, it has passed through three historical milestones: Shekou in Shenzhen, Pingshan in Shenzhen, and Fenggang in Dongguan. Dongguan CIMC Logistics Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (referred to as Dongguan CIMC) has a registered capital of 600 million yuan and covers an area of 710,000 square meters. It is a comprehensive manufacturing base engaged in the development, production, and sales of standard dry cargo containers, various types of specialized containers, their components, and providing professional after-sales technical services.
Dongguan CIMC South China possesses three major production workshops: stamping pre-processing, standard containers, and specialized containers. Among them, the standard container production workshop features an industry-first production line integrating robot applications. The specialized container production workshop is one of the larger composite production workshops for specialized container products in China. The company operates six automated production lines, equipped with end-to-end manufacturing capabilities for standard and specialized containers, containerized equipment, and modular construction products.
Leveraging its robust capabilities in research, development, design, and manufacturing, the company has become a leading supplier for both standard and specialized container products. For standard containers, this includes products such as North American 53-foot logistics containers, European 45-foot PW containers, railway containers, and folding containers. In the realm of specialized containers, the company provides a wide range of products including energy storage containers, environmentally friendly containers, industrial air conditioning containers, generator containers, and modular constructions.
Dongguan CIMC South China is located in Guanjingtou Village, Fenggang Town, Dongguan City. It benefits from convenient transportation connections, with its southeastern area connected to the central city of Longgang in Shenzhen. It is situated just 30 kilometers away from downtown Shenzhen, around 60 kilometers from downtown Dongguan, 25 kilometers from Yantian Port, and 15 kilometers from Pinghu Railway Station.
In 2019, CIMC South China relocated to Fenggang, Dongguan, and successfully commenced operations. In 2020, the annual production reached 217,000 TEUs of standard containers. In 2021, the company actively enhanced its production capacity, achieving a production output of 557,500 TEUs. In response to the national call for "stable foreign trade, promoting growth," and to alleviate the challenge of insufficient container supply, the company made significant contributions and became the first "Billion-Yuan Factory" within the CIMC Group.
